1964 – The Beatles very first film, “A Hard Day’s Night,” opened in America
1967 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience performs at The Ambassador Theater in Washington, D.C.
1970 – Janice Joplin gives her final performance (Harvard Stadium)
1972 – Alice Cooper is #1 on the UK Singles Chart with “School’s Out,” which hit #7 in the US
1977 – Guitarist Henri Padovani quit the Police, leaving them as a trio that would sell over five million singles
1994 – Woodstock ‘94 was held in Saugerties, New York, 25 years after the first Woodstock, and featured Green Day , Nine Inch Nails, Aerosmith , and the Red Hot Chili Peppers
